I was very UK heavy on what I was listening to because Ministry of Sound's compilations were just starting to hit regularly at the HMV where I got most of my music. I'd grab those, find the artists I liked, and then grab their stuff.
OMG I just looked up Ministry of Sound to see what kind of stuff they're putting out now, and it appears they no longer have a label and also the venue itself focuses on some kind of rave/fitness hybrid. Jesus that's bleak.
Yeah from what I understand Happy Hardcore is pretty closely related to gabber & dnb - tho my knowledge of electronic music in general is severely limited Ive been getting into it big lately.
Fun fact about the outro, I'm going to recall it from memory and see how correct I get it: Caroline Polachek wrote "I Believe" while tripping on acid in Italy. She was listening to CDs of Celine Dion including B-sides and outtakes, and something really caught her at the right moment in her trip. She envisioned Dion's voice as a sailboat cutting across the waves, and "I Believe" was born there.
The song is ultimately about something like immortality, and dedicated to her friend and artist SOPHIE, who died a few years ago as the result of an accidental fall. The song opens with the lyrics "Look over the edge, but not too far".
