The grimmest news fit to print. Those darn bicycle riding youts.

Borrowing from Ginsburg's "Howl"; Worcester, where is your Zohan Mamdani? Seriously! Potential saviors are urged to rev their populist engines because the charter change is on the horizon. Some folks fear change. Others are motivated by it. Michelle Wu is pushing for "congestion pricing" while Worcester fails to effectively repeal the Specialized Stretch Code. Imagine The Zohan telling Moe to, "go fuck himself, like, today!"

And The Zohan is absolutely correct about Blue Power. TBD was the lynchpin in the removal of Etel as the D5 councilor. A bit more involved than just arresting the wheelie youts.

And, yes, Kate Toomey's "equity" basis in voting "no" on the chickens is classic Worcester City Council buffoonery. "I can't just say, no."

It is disheartening how over a barrel our governments are to police unions. The news out of Taunton that a cop made almost $600k last year is a major gut punch. Taunton is not some wealthy city and I can only imagine how many better things that money could be spent on.

But political engagement is already low even before it runs into the way things are done.

The vaunted town meeting does offer a lot more chance to impact local budgets and that does work to an extent. I'll be participating in my local town meeting hoping to defeat a warrant to purchase land to stop development.

As I understand it, the Council can lower the amount of funding to a department but not reallocate the funds anywhere else, cannot raise any funding, and have no control over where those funds go once allocated to a department.

P.S., miss the Council streams, would have loved your take on clean-shaven Fred and the wheelie kid who mimed riding his motorcycle and danced for most of his time tonight.
