Bill - Glad to see you were on top of Mariano's column today. Your comment regarding his comments about Etal was spot on. I've attended most council meetings over the last year, and I haven't seen Mr. Mariano there once. There is a new energy in the chamber. Let's just say his comments were unnecessary.
I have not yet finished this latest ocean of words--er--newsletter, but I wanted to stop and ask before I keep going: What is this reference to the word "scene" in quotes several time in your analysis of voter turnout? Also, side note: I was so irked to find out you and Chris had been at the recent Summit. I was there too and did not see you! I may never meet Chris at this rate. Anyway, hi Chris! :-) I was sitting toward the front, mostly taking notes and cursing the garbled audio; missed you both.
Oh thanks for asking - i mean "scene" as in "depiction of a scene." Sort of a writer's shorthand for when you describe a place, the people there, what they're saying. Most election day coverage is just going to a polling location and interviewing people, then turning their quotes and physical descriptors ('cheering crowds held signs') into what we call "scene."

People are reasonably confident that Ray doesn't even live in the city, and that the only reason he is their columnist is he does it for free.
Yeah and more than that really telling on himself. Would he talk about a man like that?
Great piece 👏

Link to the school district map seems to be broken.
Thank you for the great post!
Ohp lemme check on that. TY!!
Great work, Bill!
Thank you!
Can’t wait to hear more from Keith. Sent him a donation. Tony will be hard to beat but I’m hopeful
I think Keith stands a good chance but it is definitely an underdog situation. Podcast will likely be this coming week. Thanks for donating to him!
He’s got my vote!
Congrats on the grant! Very excited about this project. Happy to hang up any flyers or info at HOAP. And so happy for a decent candidate in D1!
