First of all thank you Heather for being a badass and publicly reliving this so that people can see exactly how corrupt and disgusting these cronies are and so that in the future victims of sexual assault have a precedent that holds these people accountable. Thank you Lynn for your support of Heather while she relives this again and again. As always, thank you Tom Marino for your work on accountability in the city, you are fearless and appreciated. And finally thank you Bill for keeping this story alive so that people like me, who have missed large chunks of Worcester’s history, can know and understand exactly what is going on under our noses. Keep up the excellent journalism! No more veils shielding us from the truth!
The pursuit of justice must be relentless. Heather is speaking for herself and thousands of other victims. I was touched to hear Lynn Kee felt a small measure of relief from her own, unrelated struggle after hearing Heather speak out about hers.
#monpedo is disgusting, as are those who have continued to support and shield him. It is unconscionable that Heather's safety, sense of well-being, and trust in the world and adults who were in charge were not only shattered, but continued to be sacrificed for the benefit of those in power; especially those who purport to care about children.
Thank you for dedicating much-needed and long-overdue attention to this, and for helping to amplify Heather's voice beyond the echo chamber of her immediate support circle. Thank you Heather for your continued courage💕.
FYI there's an issue with the Share button; it links to Episode 40 rather than this one...not that E40 wasn't worthwhile, but this story needs to be prominent.
So grateful for this continued coverage of Heather's story. Heather is exceptional in many ways, but not unique. In my career, as a social worker, I have seen this happen more times than I care to recall. I personally reported abuse of a vulnerable youth in residential treatment. DCF investigated and substantiated the claim. It was NOT prosecuted (also under DA John Conte). I pushed hard and got nowhere. In that case, just like Heather's, the victim's character was maligned and the perpetrator's character was defended. She suffered immeasurably, and he took no noticible hit. Infuriating. He continued to work with vulnerable youth with no consequences, also simmilar to Heather's story. The system is designed to protect the powerful- in fact, that's its only function. I LOVE Heather's courage, persistence and her take-away message- power to the people, bring down the system! (paraphrasing:))

that was my favorite part! I didn't know that before she said it on the show it was very touching
Again, I am in awe of Heather and her bravery, wanting to make things better for other survivors.

Huge props to everyone involved in this, takes enormous grit to go through this process especially when the levers of power are against you.

Also want to appreciate Tom Marino and Bill Shaner (Chris Robarge too!) for using their platforms and male privlege in support of women!
