I'm legitimately concerned Rivera is going to get elected. I know the turnout for these elections is small, and every vote counts. The guy's campaign has been tacky and off putting. Right wingers seem to love it, though.

You’d think that Walter Bird would be a little more sensitive about vicious smear campaigns considering his experience with Gaffney/TB.

When you google the guy's name an article about him getting suspended for his text messages is one of the first non social media links.

The text messages were leaked by Mike Gaffney with TB’s help. They tried to make it look like he was sexually harassing someone, but the full context revealed it was a mutual flirtation. Gaffney and his wife ended up dropping out of their respective races, and he and TB ended up suing each other over the whole thing.

We need to get the vote out in D5. In D1 there is also a concern that Jenny has a significant challenge with Petersen/Paterson?

I'm more concerned with D1 than D5. I'm also conserved about D4 and a bunch of the school committee seats

Bird - I'm sorry, Rivera - singing a different tune now that this was cross-posted to Next Door and people know about his links to Griffin and Petrone.

"I started in this race to make a positive impact in my community. I have received support from Democrats, Republicans and Independents, as it should be in a non-partisan municipal election. No matter what happens, I will stick with my goal of people over politics. I know our supporters can be passionate, but in no way should any of them be disrespectful of others.

My campaign did not in any way involve itself in the release of a social media post regarding a donation made to the incumbent District 5 city councilor, nor is the individual responsible, a member of the committee.

I want to run a clean, positive campaign based on facts. This campaign should be decided by voters on the issues, and you have three candidates who have sacrificed so much for the opportunity to represent their district. I appreciate the many people who have supported this campaign and I encourage all of them to do so in positive ways."
