The gist is that he has spent a lot of time as a county DA, and he was appointed to investigate the state's Baker Labs scandal in 2012. His investigation found only one person guilty. Almost 10 years later it turned out that at least another four were involved. So it can be seriously argued that his investigation protected the state agency involved from the scrutiny it deserved. I don't know if he actually bears responsibility for that, but you don't want someone with that past to be in charge of investigating the state police, with which I'm sure he worked extensively as Suffolk County DA. Right or wrong, it smells like a potential coverup. This should be a federal investigation.
Bill, please see my multiple comments on this post about the history of David Meier, who was just appointed to investigate this case. https://www.facebook.com/groups/414774028867478/posts/2373709976307197?comment_id=2373713669640161
